From tooth extraction to implants at the Smart Care dental clinic

 

One of the biggest scares has always been tooth extraction, an extremely painful procedure that almost everyone had a nightmare about. Those times are gone and today we know that not only do we not have to worry, but we can fill the empty space after extraction with a high-quality implant, which is taken care of by the best of the best at our Smart Care clinic. How does everything work and what can you look forward to in our surgery office?

I am interested in an implant, what now?

The moment your dentist presents you with a request for implantation, it is the right time to contact our clinic. At such a moment, there is no need to wait. You can immediately book an initial consultation with one of our doctors, which lasts 30 minutes and will cost you 2000 CZK. In a seemingly short time, you will discuss everything necessary and important to you. All sessions take place in our state-of-the-art offices, where you will get to know the environment and doctors who have several years of experience. Just call our reception, where we will be happy to offer you a date that suits you best.

I don't have a request, is that a problem?

You can also make an appointment with us without a request form. The moment you call us and tell us your wishes regarding any surgical examination, we will book you for an initial examination at restorative dentistry, where our doctor will take care of you. The first visit costs 2500 CZK. Does that seem like a lot to you? The price includes the preparation of documentation, i.e. photographs, scans, X-rays, a consultation with a doctor and the subsequent creation of a treatment plan, which can involve several specialists. The treatment plan contains information about the current state of your teeth, suggestions for solving the problem and a price calculation. The restorative dentistry doctor will then refer you to a specialist – a surgeon for a consultation, which costs 2000 CZK. Simple, right?

No fear!

Many of our patients are afraid of a procedure such as implantation, and therefore often postpone their visit to the doctor. At the Smart Care clinic, you can put your worries behind you. Our surgeon Petr Kubický performs all surgical operations under local anesthesia, so you don't have to worry about suffering from pain. We will perform all dental surgical procedures for you precisely, as gently and painlessly as possible.

What happens before implantation?

Before implantation, the diseased tooth must be pulled out (extracted). This unpopular procedure is of course preceded by the application of anesthesia, so you do not feel pain. Our surgeons communicate with you during the extraction, anesthesia can be added during the procedure if the patient does not feel comfortable. The wound after the extraction is stabilized with stitches. This is followed by a rest period (approximately two weeks) and an appointment for the implantation date. Should you be afraid of this procedure? Definitely not!

Can it be implanted?

The procedure is longer, so you need to be prepared to spend at least three to four hours in our office. We can imagine a dental implant as a screw. A hole is drilled into the bone with cooling saline solution, into which the implant is screwed. Don't worry, you won't feel any pain. Everything is numb during the procedure and the assistant takes care of all your comfort. After the implant is placed, you will come to us in two weeks, when the doctor will remove your stitches. In six months, which is a long enough time for healing and creating a solid connection between the bone and the implant, you can look forward to another appointment, during which we will place a healing roller made of polished metal on the implant, which is used to shape the gums around the implant. After one month, we can start scanning and in two weeks you will come to get a beautiful crown, which is screwed onto the roller, and you can enjoy a new tooth.

How much will it all cost me?

The price depends on how demanding the procedure will be. A simple extraction (the tooth is already cut into the oral cavity and we can see the crown of the tooth in the mouth) costs 2000 CZK and a surgical one (when it is often necessary to divide the tooth into individual fragments that are gradually removed from the tooth socket, e.g. very often with wisdom teeth) costs 4000 CZK. The implantation itself costs around 16,500 CZK. We also have many patients who need augmentation, a procedure that consists of supplementing and strengthening the jawbone, most often with artificial material. The resulting price is therefore increased according to the amount of augmentation (artificial bone) used and the complexity of the procedure. The implant must have the necessary stability, and only strong and solid bone can provide this. The cost of inserting a healing roller is 1500 CZK and the same for scans. The final placement of the crown is

15 000 CZK.

How long will my implant last?

According to current statistics, the average survival of a dental implant is 8 years. The durability of an implant depends primarily on the care of the patient, which is why it is extremely important to monitor home hygiene and regular visits to the dentist, which should be at least once every six months. With individual implants, the crown that is screwed to the implant can sometimes loosen. In such a case, you can contact us at any time and we will be happy to arrange for you to tighten the crown.
