TechnologyRegular dental hygiene is just as important as a preventive check-up at the dentist.
The purpose is to prevent the development of diseases in the oral cavity by removing undesirable factors such as dental plaque and tartar. In most patients, whether due to disease, genetic factors, but mainly due to improper oral hygiene, the oral cavity gradually becomes dirty and many defects are formed. Professional dental hygiene is a set of techniques that lead to the perfect treatment of all areas that you cannot reach during regular cleaning yourself. This care will return to you many times over in the form of healthy and vital teeth, the functionality of which will last a lifetime.
The first visit begins with a short interview with a dental hygienist, during which your individual oral care, including the regularity of preventive check-ups, is discussed. We also ask about current illnesses or other problems.
At the beginning of the treatment, the condition of the teeth, gums, and periodontium is first determined using special indices. This is, for example, the CPI-TN index, which evaluates the condition of the periodontium and is performed with a calibrated probe inserted into the gum groove around each tooth. The presence of bleeding gums (PBI), tartar, or periodontal pockets is determined. The assessment can also be performed using a set of X-rays, the so-called paro-status.
The next step is a professional cleaning of the teeth under magnifying glasses. We use Zeiss magnifying glasses with LED lighting. The maximum (4,5 x) magnification guarantees perfect treatment. Glasses are essential for dental hygiene. After all, what cannot be seen cannot be removed. We remove all tartar and soft plaque, pigmentation. We achieve this using ultrasound and hand tools (sickles, curettes). If necessary, the AirFlow method (so-called sandblasting) is also used, which uses a stream of water with fine sand to remove unwanted pigmentation. After this procedure, it is recommended to avoid colored foods, such as coffee, red wine, and smoking for 2-3 hours. This is followed by disinfection of the gums and periodontal pockets using weak peroxide or chlorhexidine gel. Finally, all teeth are polished with a rotary brush and a depuration paste containing beneficial fluorides. The whole process is completely painless.
The conclusion of dental hygiene is instruction in the correct technique for brushing your teeth, where you will be advised how and which tools to use for your personal hygiene.
Complete cleaning is very important, because bacteria that cause various oral diseases settle in plaque and tartar deposits. Regular hygiene prevents tooth decay, can easily prevent unpleasant inflammation of the gums, their bleeding and prevent the onset or continuation of periodontitis.
In addition to these functional consequences, dental hygiene also has an aesthetic effect, when unwanted pigmentation and bad breath disappear. We will send you before and after treatment photos by email after the treatment.
Treatment should be carried out at least twice a year; in the case of advanced inflammation, it is necessary to have more visits for complete teeth cleaning and healing of the periodontium/gums, which you can arrange with your dental hygienist.
