Advantages of this procedure

1. Dental hygiene is essential. Without it, even the best work in your mouth won't last.
2. Brace: beautiful and functional smile, symmetry of arches - bilateral overbite leads to symmetrical development of dental arches and jaws, the upper center of the dental arch corresponds to the center of the face, the lower center corresponds approximately to the upper center. This symmetry is important in growth. It prevents the development of defects. Crossbite causes asymmetrical growth of the jaws, asymmetrical clenching of muscle groups and preference of side when chewing. This asymmetry can manifest itself in asymmetries of the spine (so-called scoliosis)
3. Retention phase: minimal or none

Disadvantages

The treatment is two-phase:

• Phase I of functional correction of the defect (it is not necessary to perfectly align the teeth themselves) – at approximately 9 years of age of the patient (the child still has mixed dentition)
• Phase II, aesthetic – perfect alignment of teeth – at the patient's 12th birthday (there is a gap of about 3 years, because it is necessary to wait for permanent teeth)
